Autoreninterview mit: Catharina Maura

Question 1: When did you start writing, and what finally made you
publish your first book?

I’ve been writing all my life, and I published my very first book mid 2020, at the height of the pandemic. I initially published because my husband dared me to. He saw me writing for so many years while doing nothing with it and he gave me the push I needed.

Question 2: How do you feel when your books go online and the first
readers‘ opinions arrive?

I’m always a little scared, but once I’ve hit the ‘publish’ button, I know that the story is out of my hands and into the world. From that moment onwards, the book doesn’t belong to me anymore — it belongs to the readers. I accept that entirely. I do read reviews, but I do it with an understanding that my work won’t be for everyone.

Question 3: Who or what inspired you to write your stories, or do you
just start writing on them?

I mostly just start writing, but my stories are often inspired by songs

Question 4: Is there a favorite place to write?

I love writing from bed, but it’s not very good for my health, unfortunately!

Question 5: What do your family and friends say about you writing and do
they read your books?

Some of them have read my books and enjoyed them, but in general, not many people in my private life know I write at all

Question 6: As an author, the protagonists you create certainly grow to
your heart, how do you feel when you write the word end under a book?

I’m always smiling by the time I type those words. While readers often read my stories within hours, they take me months to write. Finishing a story is like saying goodbye to a good friend. It’s a bittersweet feeling.

Question 7: In addition to writing, do you also pursue another
profession, if so, which one? And how do you manage to reconcile all this?

I’m a chartered accountant, but I’m a full-time writer now. Before going full-time, I’d write late into the night (even before I published)

Question 8: Is there anything you would like to share and say to your
readers?

Thank you for reading my stories and sharing your precious time with me. It means more to me than you’ll ever know!

Vielen Dank für das interessante und offene Interview Catharina und viel Erfolg mit allem, was du noch schreibst.
